| Lifestyle Family Fitness and Jack
LaLanne, the “godfather of fitness” teamed up to celebrate
the thousands of older adults participating in Humana’s
SilverSneakers® program. On Friday, November 3, 2006, Jack
LaLanne and his wife Elaine spoke to more than 60 senior
citizens at Lifestyle Family Fitness’ North St. Petersburg
fitness center. Jack talked about the importance of staying
in shape at any age. Along with his wife, he demonstrated
senior friendly exercises to help increase mobility and
overall quality of life. The next day, the fitness guru,
toured Tampa Bay area clubs to meet and greet his fans.
Fans waited patiently for an opportunity to meet the legend,
take pictures and reminisce about their favorite memories
of working out along side Jack’s television shows, books
and in his fitness centers. |
“Having Jack LaLanne visit Lifestyle Family Fitness
was inspirational for all of our members,” said Geoff Dyer,
Lifestyle Family Fitness CEO. “At age 92, Jack is in incredible
shape and helped educate our members that it is never too
late to get in shape. He proves that regular exercise and
a nutritious diet can help you live a longer healthy life.”
Lifestyle Family Fitness has more than 7,100 older adults
currently enrolled in the SilverSneakers® program. The program,
first introduced into Lifestyle Family Fitness clubs in
January 2004, is offered through Humana, Florida’s largest
Medicare health benefits company, to its Medicare members.
Participating seniors receive a free membership and specialized
non-impact fitness classes taught by certified SilverSneakers®
instructors. In addition, membership includes social programming,
health education, healthy lifestyle activities and facility
member benefits including use of club cardio equipment,
weight training equipment and other group fitness classes.
