Get organized |
|
Donate all your old clothes that no longer fit to
a charity, or bring them to a consignment shop.
Get an expandable file for all your receipts. Gather
old photos scattered everywhere and place them in
one box for scrap booking. Have a place for everything,
and everything in its place. Get rid of the clutter.
Your mind will work faster, you will feel better,
and your home will look great! |
|
Give value to yourself |
|
You are a valuable person regardless of your situation
and circumstances. You have the right to be here
and be proud of yourself. Take pride in those achievements.
From today forward, give yourself credit and praise
when you have accomplishments or have achieved something,
no matter how big or small at home or at work. |
|
Have a purpose and goal in life |
|
With a purpose, you will be better able to focus
your energy. Start writing all the things you wish
to achieve and make an effort to achieve it. And
stop wasting time focusing on the negative things. |
|
Spend time with friends |
|
Talking, sharing dreams, giving and receiving support,
solving life's great problems, and debating politics
or religion with a friend does wonders for the soul.
Get a work out buddy to help you stay fit and trim.
Plant a garden, visit the local animal shelter. |
|
Stop worrying |
|
To worry will not add seconds, minutes or hours
to your life. Nobody can predict the future, including
you. Therefore, do not fear the future or the unknown.
Focus on the present moment. It is the present,
the NOW, that you can control. |
|
|
Laugh every day |
|
Tell a joke, wrestle with your dog or play with
the kids, but have some fun! Life is short and laughing
will lengthen it. |
|
Random acts of kindness |
|
Help someone every day. The simple act of helping
someone can make you feel good. It doesn't have
to be a major undertaking. A smile, a simple compliment,
a kind word, telling someone you appreciate them
is often all it takes. |
|
Get pickier |
|
You are the sole person in your life that gets to
decide where your time and attention is spent. Take
that responsibility seriously by not wasting time
on things that don’t matter. You know in your heart
what’s really important to you: Is “kid hugging”
time where it should be in proportion to “Blackberry®
checking” time? Be mindful at the highest level
about where you focus your energy, and always strive
not to squander it. |
|
Take a hike |
|
Regular exercise is very beneficial to your health
and, next to swimming, walking is the single best
exercise you can do. It's easy and requires little
or no equipment. Take a brisk walk for 30 minutes
each day. This is an excellent way to build stamina,
tone muscles and maybe even shed a few of those
extra pounds along the way. |
|
Be grateful |
|
Be grateful for the things that you do have. As
the old saying goes, "I complained because I had
no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.” |
