Hannah Montana Fever Takes Over Tampa
|
Hannah Montana fever took Tampa by storm
and Lifestyle Family Fitness was there to take part in the festivities.
The company sponsored the webcast that broadcast the “Hannah
Monstrosity” contest on the MJ Morning Show on Tampa radio station WFLZ
93.3 FM.
On a chilly November morning, twenty contestants placed their hands on a
400-pound statue of Hannah Montana in the parking lot of the
Clearchannel station.
The last contestant remaining on the statue would win four coveted
tickets to the sold out concert at the St. Pete Times Forum by Miley
Cyrus, star of the hit Disney television show Hannah Montana and a $5000
cash prize.
The contestants received a 12- minute break every three hours. They
received catered meals, but could not use books, phones or iPods.
Throughout the week, the competition was broadcast live over the
Internet through the MJ Morning Show’s website. Visitors from around the
country were able to stop by and see how the contestants were faring in
the cool autumn air. The broadcast, sponsored by Lifestyle Family
Fitness kept fans abreast of whose hands slipped off the statue and who
remained.
Six days later, 35-year Jody Powell hung on to take home the grand
prize, when runner up Lara Padgett became distracted. Powell plans to
attend the show with his fiancée and seven-year old daughter. And, after
six days of gripping the statue, Powell and Padgett made a pact. Padgett
will receive backstage passes to the show and the two will split the
cash prize. |
