A New Year, A New You
|
A new year means time
for a fresh start. Many people will be contemplating changes to make
within their lives. Among the most popular resolutions is the desire to
lose weight and get into shape. But, as it tends to happen, the business
of life takes over and goals created for the New Year are forgotten
about.
Resolve to stick with you goals for 2008. Lifestyle Family Fitness makes
it easy to begin an exercise program and stick to it. All it takes is a
little patience and persistence.
For many, the busy holiday season is an excuse to skip the gym. For the
New Year, get right back on track but do not overexert yourself as you
may lose interest. “Start out slow, especially if it has been a while
since you consistently exercised,” said Kelly Osgood, Lifestyle Family
Fitness certified personal trainer. “You want to be sure you start off
on the right path so you accelerate and maximize results.”
Take advantage of Lifestyle Family Fitness’ "PT 123" program. Three
complimentary introductory personal training sessions are included with
membership and can help assess your goals and assimilate you into the
club.
Not everyone enjoys jogging on a treadmill! “Find activities that you
enjoy and can look forward to or you may not stick to it,” said Osgood.
Try new things. Take a Bodypump class, or try cycling. A new hobby can
freshen up your exercise routine and keep you motivated to return to the
gym each day.
Develop a plan with goals and establish a timetable to reach them. “You
have to know where you are going before you begin the trip,” said
Osgood. If you do not have a set plan you may lose patience and not see
results you sought to achieve.
Most importantly, Osgood says, is to build exercise into your lifestyle
and stay consistent. “It is never too late to change your lifestyle and
reach your fitness goals.” So don’t put it off until tomorrow, get
started towards your fitness goals today! |
